Another Movember is almost but a memory.  I have to say that participation this year was more wide spread than last… and that’s a great thing – because the more people get involved, the more awareness we can spread!  It is equally important to help prevent illness through education and awareness as it is to raise money to find a cure.

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to contribute to the cause in our usual cupcake fashion… but we wanted to look back on the efforts we put forth last year.  We were ecstatic to find out that the effects were still rippling.  This tweet is what sparked the idea for this trip down memory lane:

…and it means so much.  It just goes to show that even when you think you’re not making that much of a difference… you really are.  So for those of you that missed it, @emaninTdot participated in a FB ‘MoParty’ – it was a question and answer type online contest event and we had fabulous sponsors who provided the prizes… including two of Toronto’s leading men: hip hop recording artist, Drake and professional soccer player, Dwayne DeRosario.

…and you can see our other awesome sponsors like The One Clothing, 1 Love TO, Big It Up, thinkGood, kre8shun, East Side Mario’s, The Keg and Boston Pizza!

In addition to this online event, The Cupcake Place also submitted our specially concocted Movember cupcake for the MoCupcakes event that would eventually be crowned Toronto’s Manliest Cupcake!

The Cupcake Place’s ‘Monday Night Football Baby BOOYAH’ cupcake is a chocolate guiness cupcake topped with a mound of cream cheese frosting, drizzled with chocolate and caramel sauce, sprinkled with bacon bits and crushed pretzels and topped with a hand crafted chocolate moustache and salted pretzel stick!

These hockey inspired cupcakes were lovingly baked and decorated for Grant this past long weekend.  How cute are the little jerseys?

…and remember the ones that were done for Ben last fall.  =)  Gotta’ love them sports… especially when combined with cupcakes!

We were absolutely thrilled when we received a request to create ‘Coach’ cupcakes.  Little hand painted fondant replicas of a purse and a patterned, sugar rimmed disc adorn these Velvety Reds.

Bunnies!

…and where there are bunnies – there must be carrots!

There are SO many families enjoying The Cupcake Place cupcakes this weekend, it’s not even funny.  We are always honoured to be a part of special events and holidays and are so thankful for all of our wonderful clients. =)

After a super long weekend of creating Easter cupcakes, we are shutting down the kitchen.  We’re off to spend some well deserved quality time with our loved ones!

These Xbox cupcakes have been literally flying out the door in massive numbers.  Well… not these exact ones.  They only went out the door once.  lol.  Seriously though, we have been creating them in serious quantities… blue ones, red ones, white ones, black ones…  We think they are pretty cute, but wouldn’t tell the guys that.  It’s all about the Xbox.  No cuteness.  At all.  Whatsoever.  Nope.  NADA!   Well… you be the judge:

The cold and snow seem to be sticking around… not giving much hope for some early flower blooming.  We can’t wait for the flowers to appear, so we decided to do something special: black roses

…along with some red, gold and green!
