Another Movember is almost but a memory.  I have to say that participation this year was more wide spread than last… and that’s a great thing – because the more people get involved, the more awareness we can spread!  It is equally important to help prevent illness through education and awareness as it is to raise money to find a cure.

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to contribute to the cause in our usual cupcake fashion… but we wanted to look back on the efforts we put forth last year.  We were ecstatic to find out that the effects were still rippling.  This tweet is what sparked the idea for this trip down memory lane:

…and it means so much.  It just goes to show that even when you think you’re not making that much of a difference… you really are.  So for those of you that missed it, @emaninTdot participated in a FB ‘MoParty’ – it was a question and answer type online contest event and we had fabulous sponsors who provided the prizes… including two of Toronto’s leading men: hip hop recording artist, Drake and professional soccer player, Dwayne DeRosario.

…and you can see our other awesome sponsors like The One Clothing, 1 Love TO, Big It Up, thinkGood, kre8shun, East Side Mario’s, The Keg and Boston Pizza!

In addition to this online event, The Cupcake Place also submitted our specially concocted Movember cupcake for the MoCupcakes event that would eventually be crowned Toronto’s Manliest Cupcake!

The Cupcake Place’s ‘Monday Night Football Baby BOOYAH’ cupcake is a chocolate guiness cupcake topped with a mound of cream cheese frosting, drizzled with chocolate and caramel sauce, sprinkled with bacon bits and crushed pretzels and topped with a hand crafted chocolate moustache and salted pretzel stick!

As November draws to an end – and we head into the busiest season of the year (I can’t believe it’s almost December)… we have finally pulled up our social media socks and jumped back into cyberspace with all of our lovelies on Twitter, Facebook and here on our site.

I don’t know what to say… the last five months or so have been a total whirlwind – I can’t even remember most of what has happened (and it’s not because of the coconut rum you all know I love).  What I DO know is that we have made some fabulous connections, awesome friendships, and of course, CUPCAKES!  We’ve learned so much along the way and we can’t wait to bring everyone up to speed on what’s been going on here at The Cupcake Place.  Hope you all are ready…

We’re so excited about our site’s new look.  We do PLENTY of social networking, so it made sense to merge our blog and site together.  It’s still a work in progress, but I hope that you like the changes that we have made.  Over the next few weeks, we will be adding more content so be sure to check up on us every once in a while!
